I have the need to process an Outlook Mailbox.  I have Java code to pull each e-mail out to it's own text file on disk to directories and subdirectories.
 
Would the SearchEmail function be of use to process these file, OR could it access the Outlook mailbox (PST,OST) directly?

SearchEmail function only search from the a web directory.   You need to make your directory web accessible to use the function.  
 
IRobot may be able to search outlook mails if there is a web version.
